Evoluent Vertical Mouse
Price range: $199.00 through $249.00
The Evoluent Vertical Mouse 4 is the gold standard in the vertical mouse sector. The patented shape supports your hand in an upright neutral posture that generally avoids forearm twisting. In our opinion, Evoluent have refined their vertical mouse with great comfort and functionality.
Description
VerticalMouse 4
A patented contoured shape that supports your hand in a relaxed handshake position, eliminating forearm twisting. Choose your hand, size and connection below.
A relaxed handshake position
The patented contoured shape supports your hand as if mid-handshake, with the thumb resting in a naturally contoured notch — instead of twisting the forearm flat the way a standard mouse does.
Finger positions closely match a traditional horizontal mouse, just rotated vertically, so switching over is intuitive rather than a relearning exercise.
Six programmable buttons
Two thumb-operated buttons and three finger-operated buttons are provided, with the scroll wheel doubling as a sixth. The thumb naturally opposes finger movement, so clicking doesn’t shift the mouse mid-task.
An extended lip along the bottom edge also stops your little finger rubbing on the desk during longer sessions.
An optional, powerful driver
The Evoluent Mouse Manager software lets you reprogram all six buttons to common shortcuts and functions, cutting down how often you need to move your hand between mouse and keyboard.
It’s entirely optional — every model works as a plug-and-play mouse straight out of the box without installing anything.

Common questions
Which version should I choose?
Start with your dominant hand, then size — Small suits smaller hands, Regular suits average to larger hands — then decide wired, wireless (2.4GHz receiver) or Bluetooth for Mac. Ask our Occupational Therapy team if you’d like help deciding.
I’m left-handed — what are my options?
Left Wired (VM4L) is the only left-hand option currently available — there’s no Left Small or Left Wireless version in this range.
Is there a Mac Bluetooth version?
Yes — the Mac Bluetooth version (VM4RM) is sold as a separate listing rather than a variant here. TODO: link to the separate VM4RM listing once it’s live.
Do I need to install the driver software?
No — every version works as a plug-and-play mouse out of the box. The Evoluent Mouse Manager driver is only needed if you want to reprogram the six buttons to custom functions.
How long does the battery last on the wireless versions?
Right Wireless and Right Small Wireless both run on a standard AA battery.
What’s the warranty?
2 years across every version in the range.
